This summer at my folks caravan when I hooked my 360 up to their Phillips wide screen tube TV I got the RRoD. I found out that this was due to a power surge coming from the tv down the video cable and when I connected it up to their dvd/video combo all was well. This did scare the **** out of me at the time but after I connected it up to the dvd/video combo it worked ok.

Last night at about 12:30 I thought I would chance my arm and go for the NXE update, im running the leaked version and of course I couldnt get online. After I turned the 360 off and removed the wirelss adaptor and then put it on again I got the dreaded RRoD. I tried everything to see if it was a slight glitch including reseeding every connecting to it but no luck. After giving it 2 mins I put it on again and no worries, everything was fine.

The 360 wasnt warm, I was playing NFS Undercover for about an hour before it but nothing was any different than the past 3 years or so that I have had it.

Has anyone see intermitment RRoD before like this or the TV power surge that causes it also and if so is my 360 on its way out???

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, just give me some reassurance that I wont need to get a new one soon. Though when I hooked it up to the caravan tube tv it was making a clicking sort of noise, thats what made me think of a power surge but I now have other options to hook it up to that tv.

Again thanks.

For the last year every now and then I get the RRoD. I turn it off and back on and it's fine.

Screw the people who say 'ooooo your 360 is gonna die'.

Ok my 360 is now officialy dead, 3 lovely red rings and there is nothing I can do to fix it. The system was ok, i turned it off and on again and then it died. I wasnt hot, it was cool, as was the psu, but Im 99% sure its something to do with this new update as the previous problems where caused by the TV.

Am I right in saying there realy isnt much sence in getting the X-Clamps or should I give it a go first?

Also what drive will I expect to get in the new 360 Arcade?
