Help on Dual Graphics Cards Cards

Hi guys.. Right im looking at buying a second graphics card so I can run Dual SLI cards in my machine..

The card I have at the mo is a GeForce 8800 GTS (640mb) Card so obviousely im going to buy another of this card.

My question is..Is it worth while?
What will I gain from having 2 of these cards instead of 1?

Most importantly
Will it improve my graphics in games?
Will it improve my FPS in game?

What else will it do?

If anyone has any experience in running dual cards please share with me lol

Not worth it. The 8800GTS 640MB has been out of production for a year now, and finding another will be costly I expect. It would be easier and cheaper to buy one single card that is even faster than the pair like a Radeon HD4870.

Well..I have found one for sale and its not a bad price.. Cant use a radion I dont think cos my mobo is a Nvidia chipset.. can i still use ATI with that?

Just been looking at newer cards.. Im looking at the GeForce GTX 280 1024MB GDDR3 This card looks good and costs the money.. What do you think? im not hugely knowledgeable in gf cards i just wanna get the best possible card I can lol..money isnt really a problem so....

Yes you can. The GX280 is barely any faster than the HD4870, and over here at least, it's nearly twice the cost.
