Ok my 360 died thanks to the NXE with rrod and just before that I was banned, as a result im going to try the Xclamp fix but I dont expect it to work.
If it dosent im going to get a new arcade and flash it, but is this wise with the whole ban hammer thing as I dont want to lose another console to a ban. I know there is an expected 1.5 version of ixtreme but can we really expect this soon?
So should I flash a new 360 or not?

It would be pointless+ if your going to have to flash the drive again with ixtreme 1.5 which i hope will be out soon. To be honest i'm using a non modded box for online play and my modded elite with ixtreme 1.4 has been disconnected from live for a few days now, i'm waiting for an update myself.. I'm talking i disconnected about 1 week before the launch of NXE because i was afraid this moment would come..

I totaly understand what your saying. I was disconnected for about 2 months before the NXE was out and I still got banned when I went back on, I think its down to previous games and what your 360 logs then as soon as you go back on, if you can, then you get banned.
I hope you dont get the hammer mate but you might have alreay and just dont know it.

good luck even geting your hands on an xbox 360 without the lite-on drive most of the new ones have olny got the lite on drive = no flash olny swap the drives :(

Oh you won't be so happy to know that MOST current 360's have Lite-On drives inside of them, so you won't be able to hack them unless you do a soldering job and you'll need to do additional advanced stuff too that not even I can understand, then on top of that you can only use a spare drive that is not of an Lite-On. I've got a lite-on 360 and just plan on keeping it the way it is, because it's nearly impossible.
On another note, I have a second 360 that has an 78fk drive inside. I went to Gamestop and specifically requested an older Core console NOT the Arcade models. And they got me one. So I'd recommend trying that route, although you may have an RROD chance since those older models don't have the added heatsink. Anyways, I'm also waiting until the current ban wave is over before I hack the 78fk 360, I've heard somebody got banned as late as yesterday so I don't know what's going on.

You have to dump the drive key from the new arcade which will most likely have the lite-on drive. You need to solder some type of switch to two points in order to achieve that.

dont get another console unless your gonna backup retail games because you will get banned again. NEVER DOWNLOAD, but its your risk
