Hello,

I have a PS2 Slimeline, modded with Matrix Infinity
Until recently it worked fine

But a few days ago i turned it on, to play Call of Duty
and the disk wouldn't spin! i tried restarting it, but nothing
i tried all kinds of disk, but the disk just would spin/boot

I applied some pressure to the lid and guess what.. the disk starts to spin. i took my hand off the lid, and it stops..

Now i can't play with only one hand :|
can someone help me?
is it dead? :'(

rstar,

By your symptoms, it sounds like your lid switches or one of them is going bad. The lid switches are little black push switches which are located under the lid. You may want to replace them is you're familiar with soldering. If not, try using a piece of duct tape to press the switch down all the way. It may work, but if not, you may want to have your switches replaced to see if that solves your problem.

If you can solder, I have some spare switches here I can send out to ya. No charge.

But first, try taping down the switches and see what happens.
