I've noticed after reading thousands of posts that when it comes to certain probs, leaving the xbox off for a while seems to fix it temporarily. This seems odd because all these probs arent heat probs(or they really are and just havent been properly identified). IF its not heat, then it has to do with the circuits themselves. The only thing i can think of that would be affected by letting it sit, would be components like capacitators and of that nature. Its not like a damaged eeprom can rewrite itself and the 360 doesn't have any type of highend maintenance software like that.(Least as far as i know). Have they maybe used mounds of faulty board components and most of these probs are ripple effect?
