So I tried to dump the firmware through the auto iPrep thing, but it wouldn't work (said it was unable to patch/dump firmware), so I did it manually.
Typed in

Dosflash R 24D0 1 A0 1 4 a:\original.bin

And it said it was read.

So then I typed in dosflash, it asked me what I wanted to do, I chose write, told it to write a:/benq-cfw.bin
and it said
erasing... writing... complete.
So I assumed it worked, but now the 360 says "Please insert an XBox 360 disk."

I think it MAY have backed up my original firmware. There is a 256KB file on my flash drive in the TOOLS folder. It is not a BIN file, it just says 44444 (the last part of what I chose as my serial number when I told it to read.)

Is there any way to put the CFW on there?
Any way for the OFW?
Am I screwed all around?

And if I am, is it possible to get another drive, get the firmware off of that, then put it onto my BenQ, then flash then BenQ?

Sounds like there's no key in the new firmware.

If you did it manually, then your key isn't injected in to the new firmware automatically. You also have to do that manually.

Take your original.bin, open it with toolbox to verify it is a good dump, then paste it into the folder which has the speed you want to use. Then use the "make ixtreme firmware" command. That'll give you a "ix14.bin" file.

Put that bin on what ever you're using for a:. Then you can flash with dosflash using "a:/ix14.bin"
