can anyone tell me about the process of drive-swapping a Liteon?

In a nutshell, I got hit with the Live Banhammer last week on my flashed console. Decided I couldn't be without Live and Gears 2 so I bought a new Elite. As expected it has a Liteon drive in it (I think all new 360s do now).

I understand that Liteons cant be flashed. I have read some vague stuff about dumping a key from the liteon and spoofing it to another drive. And also something about a RS2332 Chip and soldering 2 points on the drive? Is it possible for a novice to do this?
Have seen sites offering a replacement drive service (such as ghost2fitter) but I don't really want to send in my console to someone online that I don't know. As things stand I'm kinda in the brown stuff with a 360 that can't play backups. Sure my banned console can still play them but it's not the same when you can't go on Live.

It's a somewhat complicated process, which is typically not recommended to people unless they know what they are doing. It is possible to read the key off of the liteon and then yeah, you have to spoof it onto another drive. If you're interested, send me a pm, I can do the liteon drive swaps.

Wait a minute... you got banned last week, so you've bought a new console (the most expensive one at that) and you plan on modding it and going back on LIVE?

If LIVE is that important, why would you risk yet another ban? And especially with spoofing a Lite On.

i have a question i wanna swap my hitachi 47 for an hitachi 59 do i have to solder anything and if not can someone show me how?

I can show you how... come on over. :)

Well, maybe we can't show you, but we can tell you. There's no soldering. You just have to spoof the 59 as a 47. Just do a Google search on how to spoof a 360 drive. There are numerous guides on how to do it.
