i have problems openning my 21 port for FTP
i have a linksys and it blockes the 21st port. Can somebody help me to resolve my problem please. Thank you.

what model of linksys? you should be ableto go to the port forwarding section and forward port 21 to the machine IP that you are using.

the linksys is the regullar one (4 pc, lan, link)
when i go to forwarding what do i do there? and do i need to change the dmz??? one more Q. if i have Norton firewall do i need to dissable that to be able to use the 21st port?

find out what IP your machine is running, then forward port 21 to that IP. the norton firewall might be killing the FTP by default. I have my main machine set as DMZ host, it works out pretty well. If you come on our IRC channel, we can work on helping you out. you dont want to post your IP here.
