Hi,

Can someone please explain to me how firmware updates take place. I understand that I can connect to the internet and choose to upgrade.

What happens if I put in some game that requires higher than 3.0U that I have? Will I be given a choice?

The console is not mine, and I dont want to screw it up.

Yes the choice is yours. If it ask for an update you can just turn off the Wii before accepting the update.

The Internets is a really funny place. You can always find answers to very complicated questions (ie millions of threads on modding), yet nothing on the simplest one.
