I just received an invite to try a closed beta version of HOME. I have found it to be a complete let down. Hopefully, some of the features will be better when it is released to the masses.

I wish they'd have a better invite system, they're just sending them out randomly instead of sending them to people who have clocked in the most hours on the psn like they said they were going to do with the home theme draws. A lot of the invites are going to go to people who could care less, or people who own a ps3 but haven't touched it in months. Or even yet people who wouldn't even bother to use the code if they got it.
Just BAH is all I have to say.

Damn I want one. You guys say it comes to the Email that is signed to the PSN right, and not to the PS3 itself?

The invite was sent to the email address that I use to log in to the PS3. I got the invite by downloading the home theme. I downloaded that in the summer so it took awhile.

Just BAH is all I have to say.
I havent spend more than 20mins in PSN and i have my PS3 60gb from EU release date, and i must got more than 5 beta codes in total, Resisstance2 was the latest
but i have 2 ps3's, about 20 games, and i must have downloaded the entire PS store, for my PS3 and PSP.
Dunno if the "sending code system" is random or they check with some way who is a good customer

I got an invite from the Japanese PS HOME BETA. It did give me a code but I got to thinking. Since I have Home installed on my 60Gb PS3, the HOME icon should be in the Japanese accounts XBM. I logged in and it was. I launched HOME and id did not do an install which makes sense as it was already in my machine. It did start exactly as if I was logging on for the first time. I had to re-create an avatar and as soon as that was done I was in the same sea side condo. Here's the thing. All the text is Japanese which makes sense as I am in the Japanese Home Beta. Also they 1 more place to go and IMO their Plaza looks waaayy better than what we north American have. Also in my japanese home beta invite it was mentioned that I have access to a Namco Bandai Museum Beta. I have not found said museum and it is tricky to navigate each space as its in Japanese.
Now here's what want to know. Can anyone use the BETA Key that I got from the Japanese Home Beta regardless where they are around the world?

The code itself is locked to your psn but you can gameshare it if you want to take the chance, and the namco museum is a arcade featuring dig dug, pac man, and gladius.
Oh and I found proof that game sharing home isn't bannable, tedthedog (SCEE Home Fourms Admin) came out and said it on the european board.

Its similar to sims online essentially, its a free social service sony will be offering. It has tons of features which will tie into trophies, games, etc. Too much to list.

Just an FYI
As I posted above I received a BETA invite through my Hong Kong PSN account. I wondered what the deal was with the Namco museum BETA invite that came with the Home Beta Invite. Today I went to the arcade/bowling place for Home and their arcade has Galaga, Dig Dug, Pac Man and Galaxian. My first thought was cool then yeah...we in north america get the shit end of this deal...sigh..Anyway, I attempted to play Galaga and as soon as I tried to launch it with the "X" button. I got a message saying that I needed to download the Namco Museum Beta. Hmmm.I though when I installed home, Namco Museum Beta was also installed. I guess not. Anyway, I went though my download history and it was there. The Namco Museum Beta was sitting there. I re-downloaded and installed. It installed on my PS3 as if I downloaded a demo. Now I can play Pac Man, Dig Dug, Galaga through the XBM. I assume that I installed this that I can now also play the arcade for Namco Museum in the arcade section of Home Beta. Wished us north Americans will be getting this as well.

My theory is that each of the regions beta's are working on the individual aspects of home and they're going to come together at the open beta.

I got a code almost two weeks ago. Then we spent a bunch of money to bring our dog to the vet and neglected to pay the cable/internet bill... I've been waiting for this for sooo long and now we have No connection!
.. Good news is that we will be starting a new service with the comcast devils on Friday with one of those 250gig caps that our previous provider didn't have... But it's faster at least. If your in the US beta add me: Hunt720
