Microsoft has announced that users with subscriptions to the Zune music store will receive ten free songs to keep every month, included in the $15 USD per month fee. The monthly fee allows user to download unlimited amounts of music as long as they keep paying for the subscription, but because they are rentals, they become unplayable if the user ever stops paying. So it's ten DRM free tracks per month @$15 per month? All other tracks are rentals and stop playing when you stop paying?

I wonder what structure is in place to ensure artists get their royalties? I some how doubt that this is a two way street with the big boys. The usual tactics are a one lane highway and "don't cross it or we'll run you over".

Perhaps this author is getting a little cynical with olde age.. :P
