I had a problem watching many of my previously viewable *MP4 movies after upgrading my firmware. I moved to v5.01 from v3*, not sure which version of 3 I was on when the movies stopped working. Nothing else changed, so I knew it was related to the firmware upgrade.

I have a large library of MP4s that I encoded from DVD so it was exremely disappointing to find that most of them stopped playing on my PSP.

To make a long story short, if I placed the unviewable content in the following folder, they worked again:

\MP_ROOT\200ANV01

I don't have the particulars of the codecs that the movies were encoded with, so this solution may just help those who were in the same boat as me. Thought it might help someone else.

I realized I was in the wrong forum AFTER I had already posted the message. If someone can help me move it or reflect it in the PSP forum that would be great.

I was just relieved that I didn't have to go back and re-encode all of my movies.
