hello, i feel so absolutely stupid . i cannot get a movie to play on this thing. i downloaded it as mp4 and put it in the 100MNV01 folder and renamed it to mv40000.mp4 i cannot find it anywhere, how do i access this movie and did i put it in the right place? tutorials say so make the MP_ROOT folder then the 100mnv01 folder but it was already on my memory after formatting it. please help me thanks

Try making a VIDEO folder in the root of your memory stick and put the video in there and see if that works also make sure your screen resolution for your video is around 320*240.

I am kind of repeating what zero9121 said, but im kind of confirming this that you need to have it in the video folder, otherwise your psp wont recognise it.
