First off my drive is a 47DJ (and as a side note i will say that while in mode B it always has the green light flashing violently when the tray is closed if that gives any help to my problem).I followed all of the steps through mode B all the way to dumping the hacked .bin to the drive. I turn it off to get it out of mode B, turn it back on, put in my backup copy of Shaun White's Snowboarding and close the tray. It says "reading" for about 10 seconds and makes a whole bunch of noise from the drive like its trying really hard to read it and then just says "open tray" like nothing is in there at all... I did this with multiple backup copies of my various games and none worked. What is going on here?
DONT REFLASH
I have flashed a few 47dj drives and they are a big pain in the ass.
i would say if you had no errors then your drive was flashed ok.
have you got a was, now, key file inside your folder?
If so use Fw toolbox to check the now file to see if its ok.
in my experiance i have had to dismantle the dvd drive and do the pot calibration trick and also attatch a shim to the laser arm so that it hits the pin earlier than it currently is.
you will find various tutorials of this and also on you tube if you google 47dj problems.
you see the ring around a copied disc where it starts reading is wider on a copy than it is on an original so your drive needs to start reading at an earlier position, hense the shim.
also another method is to take the round panel out of the dvd drive and remove the magnet then try reading the disc with the top off and the magnet sitting directly on it.
have a look on you tube.
good luck.
would it be easier to get a different drive to flash thats not such a pain in the arse... I have GOW 2, SW Snowboarding, and Dead rising all backed, at least one should have worked by now after 2 flashes i think. I use Memorex 8.5 DVD + R DL's, just ordered some verbatim to see if they come out any different.
