Please help. When I burn a dvd using Nero Smart Start, some of the movies will be in color, and some are in black and white. I don't know where to start to fix the problem. These are AVI files. Could they be bad files, could my codecs be corrupt, could it be Nero itself? All the DVDs will play in color on the computer, but not in 4 different DVD players. I've wasted so many discs. This problem just started recently, and I've changed nothing to cause it. Could it be the burner itself? I don't understand why some will play in color and some won't. Seems like if something was wrong, they'd all be in black and white. And it isn't actually black and white...it's sort of tinged with a bit of green.
Thanks

Start using dvd RW disks for testing,
then you can reuse them instead of waste them.

Are you creating NTSC disks and playing them in a PAL player/TV
OR vice versa ?

Hi Dave, thanks for the reply. I downloaded a movie from the internet, burned it using Nero Start Smart. It played back fine in color on my computer, but in 4 different home DVD players, it comes back in black and white. I reinstalled Cyberlink Power DVD, updated Nero Start Smart, checked for viruses and spyware. I don't know what else to do. Dell said to switch to Sony discs. I'm using Memorex and have never had a problem with it before. I'm wondering if my dvd burner has anything to do with it. I only have one RW disc, but I'll use it and test. But I've burned 7 or 8 movies, and they're all in black and white. I'm at my wit's end. Thanks for any help.

Are you converting movies you downloaded from the net?
What is the frame rate of the avi's that produce a good DVD,
Vs. the frame rate of those that don't? Different?

Similarly, look at the DVD's in the computer. Are some of them
PAL and some NTSC? Do you see any pattern?
