have a psp will work with charger but not with battery tried new battery soon as i plug battery into psp orange light comes on but psp wont switch on remove battery insert charger psp works also when i use with charger then insert battery a key appears next to battery indicator then keys dont work is there anyway of turning offthe keylock anyone help thanks

The key lock thing is only supposed to appear when you put your PSP into Hold mode (sliding the power switch down instead of up). You would go back to normal by sliding the power switch back up again (not all the way, or it would also turn off your PSP).

So when you put in the battery, try putting your PSP in and out of hold mode. I don't know if it will work or not (and really I don't know why the heck a battery would be putting it into Hold mode in the first place).

psp isnt in hold mode i know thats how it locks normally but this locks as soon as i plug the charger in when i have it running off the battery same if its running off charger and i insert battery automatically keeps locking but cant get the lock to go off even tried locking it then unlocking but its staying locked

Tch, I'm running out of ideas. Does it unlock when you take the battery back out? And does the flashing battery icon ever show up, as though it's charging the battery?

yeah as soon as i take the charger out it unlocks seems to be working fine now apart from the keys locking when i put charger in

Augh, here is where I come to a dead end. I found a topic called Can Anybody Make a "Disable Hold" Prx??? In the end, someone made one but didn't release it... and in any case it would only work if you're running custom firmware.

yeah it aint been flashed running original firmware even tried pandora on it to see if it was corrupt firmware still doing same thing
