Ok, so I've had my 360 for a month over a year now, and this morning I was just casually playing COD4 online, then a blank green screen popped up. No explanation. Just GREEN. I reboot, then it wouldn't recognize any of my controllers, USB or not. So, I reboot again, and now it freezes up on whatever game I try to play, off the disc or the harddrive. I did some research, though I might be wrong, that this could be caused by a loose GPU, or internal heating. Internal heating is definitely not it, so I'm guessing it's the loose GPU(i see pixelated squares once in a while when the screen is frozen). If that is it, is there any way I can fix it myself? I called micro$oft and they said my warranty is up(only a year, rly?!?!)and that I would have to send it in and they can fix it for 100$. I said no thank you, so now I'm asking you guys. Is there a possible fix to this that I can do myself? Anything whatsoever. Thank you.

your xbox if you bought it new has a 3 year warranty, if not you can fix it yourself. i am suspecting an x-clamp fix would do the trick. but you should really call m$ back.

You will eventualy get 3 red lights in a bit.
I had the same problem and after 1-2 weeks I got the 3 red lights of death. If you dont have warranty as Homesick2 said there are a lot of easy tutorials on youtube that can help you fix that.Good Luck! :)

Don't the 3 red lights mean overheating? Cuz I doubt that's it. And also, my warranty is out, I only had one year for some awkward reason.....I'll just have to go back to my original Xbox for a bit, lol.

You should try to do the penny trick. I think the ram is coming away from the bottom of the board and causing your games to freeze up. When you do that you should do the x-clamp replacement like Homesick suggested.
Good Luck
