Can someone please help me figure out how to fix this problem.Where is the RAM,how do you replace it,What do I need to buy.I have searched all over and seen x-clamp fix for overheating,Penny trick eraser trick, but nothing tells you how to fix the RAM overheating.
you dont replace it, there are pads on the bottem of the board some have them some dont, they act as heatsinks for the ram. look into buying those online, and i would go ahead and do the x-clamp fix if i were you.
okay first thanks for the reply.I seen the pads on the 4 chips on the bottom, but there didnt seem to be anything wrong with them.Would that be the problem even though you dont see anything visible wrong with the pads.Do you just take them off and put new ones on and that fixes it.Also it looks like double sided sticky tape,is that all it is.
honestly i dont know much about them, what i do know is that if i am right, the ones put on by m$ are cheap, so you need aftermarket. yes it looks like double sided sticky tape (if i am right). but honestly I have had 3 boxes, all three got the red lights and i did not check the error code on all three of them. i just did the x-clamp fix. and all three work to this day. :) so i would just refer to my first post.
ok Ill do the xclamp fix and change the pads. Thanks for the help I ordered an x box clamp fix kit off ebay when it comes in Ill post how evrything went.
