Nero has recently begun to create coasters right at Read-Out, both with audio and data discs, in Burning Rom mode. After staring at various log reports and poking around the web for clues, I came to think that perhaps one or more drivers left over from a previous Adaptec install (specifically cdralw2k.dll) might be in conflict, but I deleted that one, rebooted, and after one successful burn was back in Coasterville. I then deleted cdral.dll from the same directory, rebooted, but after one successful burn the same thing happened again, and repeatedlyl.
Here, for the technically minded, is the relevant (I hope...) section of my most recent failure log. I assume "invalid field in command" is a key part of this, as is the line suggesting a SCSI error, whatever that is. Can you tell I'm not technically inclined?:

All perfectly clear ... to someone, I hope. Should I uninstall Nero and then reinstall it? It was running just fine for awhile ... but now, not. There are no remaining traces of Adaptec anywhere I can find, including in the registry, which I've gingerly poked around in.
Thanks for your help!
