First I'd like to say thanks to everyone here. I've been lurking these forums for a bit over a year now and my wii would still be in a box in my closet without everyones help.

Thanks!

I need some help with Castlevania Judgment. I've searched a bit and found nothing pertaining to this problem. I have a wii with 3.1U and a wiikey and haven't had any problems playing most of the games I feed into it. I also have the 1.9s update. I guess as newer games come out I'm eventually going to have to update my firmware. And that might be my problem here.

When I put the game into the wii it shows the logo icon and lets me click on it, then I goto the games start screen. Soon as I click start it goes black and freezes my wii. I've tried changing the region and using wii brick blocker, neither do anything.

If anyone could help me out that would be great. If I need to update my firmware thats going to be fun. I've read too many accounts of people bricking their wii's after updating.

Use Waninkoko's Downgrader Tool to (ironically) upgrade to 3.2 firmware.

I have a Wiikey as well, and Castlevania Judgment works fine on 3.2U firmware.

Make sure you brick block the game though (I'm not sure if it needs to be, but you might as well).
Or you can play it through Gecko OS.

Keep in mind that certain new games will need special upgrades because of the way they are coded. For example, 'Animal Crossing: City Folk' needs a WAD file from the disc installed because the game uses a new add-on (WiiTalk) and the game checks for it at startup.

So you don't always need to completely upgrade your firmware just because the game won't play. If you can Google what the game needs to run, you can rip it off the disc and install it separately without upgrading your console.
