For some reason when playing Mario Kart online my car is much slower than the others. Even with a Star I am barely moving faster. No matter what place I come in, it will always put me in first on the leader board.

The other day my original JAP Wii died on me. Not even bricked but totally died. No start up screen just black with a green button, eject still working, and a 5 second hold down on power button to turn it off. So instead of buying a new modchip, I bought a PAL Wii and transfered the modded JAP Wii drive to the PAL Wii (changed region on the mod-chip). Not sure if this has anything to do with it but Kart was working fine on the old system had (8500 points with old character). All other parts of MK work fine except the online mode.

Anyways... coming first everytime is kinda cool but loses its charm when its not earned and moving slower than everyone is painful.

Any ideas?
