PMA Update Failure (Solved - caused by dvd burner slipping into PIO mode))

I am now getting this message every time I burn a DVD, no matter what program I am using. It gets to the very end and it fails to burn, and the PMA message comes up. I have already searched and tried just about every thing. I have been getting this message for a while. I thought perhaps I had a bad batch of DVDs. I just opened a fresh pack of Verbatim DVD+R's today and I have wasted 3 discs, using various programs. I read that this is usually caused by bad media, but I know that Verbatim is not considered a bad brand.
I have never had a problem before and I can still use the drive to burn CDs, but does that still mean that my burner could be packed in? Oh and I'm currently cleaning up temp files and defragging, but I'm not sure that's going to help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Whoops, I thought the serial number only appeared at one point in the log. I read that post earlier today and it does not seem to apply to my situation. I have different media than when I was getting error message before.

Oops i'd missed the bit where you'd mentioned using different media. I'll clean my specs and look over the logfile a bit more closely..
edit- a-ha, it looks like your dvd burner has slipped into PIO mode, you can fix it by following alkohol's first post here -

I guess that's why you're burning at 2.4 speed, there's no need to burn so slowly. Ideally you should be burning those nice Verbatim's at 8x..
