I plan on getting a new comp for mainly gaming and was wondering if the i7 core was worth the money being a gaming cpu and all. Can someone pls explain whats so good about it?

I personally think the i7 is overpriced, in a lot of game benchmarks, similarly priced CPUs don't really outperform their 775 counterparts. For some applications they do, but overall, considering the vast cost of DDR3 and a good i7 motherboard, it just isn't justifiable yet.
