trying to copy a CD-ROM from a textbook

First off I use a mac. Now, my son (4) took a CD-ROM that accompanied my textbook so I borrowed it from another student and tried copying it with toast. I know how to copy cds and dvds, I use mactheripper and DVD2oneX. I have never had this problem with a cd. I figure it is because it's from a text bool. I did do a search to see if I could find an answer and randomly looked through posts. You all have helped me out in the past. I feel like an idiot cause I cant get a CD to copy..
CDClone is out of the qustion I guess. i have been looking around the internet for ways to make cdclone work on the mac. I seems like a lot of work for a CD...
