Cant remember which firmware updated the capacity for it, but it should work fine. If not, just update your firmware.

Is the issue of "Fake" PRO DUO memory sticks still true?
All the research I've done was from 2007, so I was assuming this issue no longer exists. But, I want to verify...
Are there any brands (Sony, Sandisk, Lexar, etc.) or sizes/capacities I should stay away from?
Thanks for the help!

Stay away from Lexars. And make sure whatever you buy has magicgate supported.
As for capacities, being you're running 5.00 M33 and there's no M33 out for 5.01, no, i would NOT buy anything 8gig or above.
Repeating this...
Do not buy anything 8gig or above!
The reason is that the 5.01 patch sony released specifically addressed a problem with the psp's and 8+ gig sticks.
Check here for more info on all sony psp firmware upgrades:

Just out of curiousity (maybe you know something i havent heard) but why exactly shouldnt anyone purchase 8gb or above?
To my knowledge, there was an error with the online PSN store and 8GB & 16GB sticks, not the actual psp unit with the sticks itself. The error read the 8gb and 16gb sticks to have no space available while downloading stuff from the psn store. The bug was fixed in 5.01.
As long as people under 5.01 dont really care for the psn store it shouldnt make a difference.

*Bump*
Can anyone answer staxx's question? I just bought a 16GB MicroSDHC (NOT FAKE) but when I adapt it for my PSP it's read as only being 7.5GB.

I didnt have a question, i was more so challenging the other persons statement.
You formatted your mem stick? If thats not the case then you probably have some corrupt clusters/segments on the stick...or it could very well be fake.
Have you tried out other sdhc's, or just that one?
