I am trying to find a way to convert DivX or Avi files to burn to cd to play on dvd player....is there a way??? Please help

Ah, yes there is a way. You need to re-encode (you __will__ lose quality, sorry) the video to VCD format (or SVCD, but you need to make sure that your player supports this -- most of the players support VCD, but not that many support SVCD correctly even that they're supposed to).

You need to use TMPGEnc to encode the video, VCDHelp.com has good guide for this one:

Then you need to burn the MPEG-1 file into VCD.cfm" class="forum_link" target="_blank">VideoCD format using CD writer software such as Nero:

hey Drd!!! i've heard about a prog that plays AVI's on Home-DVD-player's!!! I'm searching for it, but without sucess!!! Don't you know, where i can find it??? i don't know the name!!! sorry!!! This is not only for @Drd!!! All people in this forum that have any idea what i search, reply my questions!!! shit english!!! i'm just a german boy!!! :-)

I doubt that, strongly. DVD players are not meant to run any code on them and therefor executing a program that allows AVI playback is more than unlikely.
