i have a xbox 360 which i bought as a used console from somebody and i got the rrod, well i tried to fix it with taking out the x-clamps and putting new thermal paste and screws but i still the got the red ring, i also tried the penny trick. can anybody help me!!

Make sure you clean all the old paste off the heatsinks and chips and make sure when you put the new paste on you cover the chip evenly with a credit card ,razorblade or something smooth. When you take the x-clamps out and put the screws in just get them snug.Turn on the xbox and the red rings will come on.Let the xbox run for a couple of minutes with the fan unplugged.This will help fuse the broken solder back together.Then let cool and take everything out and tighten the screws down tight and put everything back together.It should work then.
