I have been browsing the forums saw all these Topics about people claiming they can play Burnt games on un-Modded consoles. But then by the end of their topics people always find out the Topic Starter is a liar.
Those Topics are over 4 years old.
My question is there any free way of playing copied games on my PS2 slim.
I have Atlantis PS2 backup toolkit if that helps, and for anyone else who has been searching for it here it is

Okay, I have now completed the "Tissue & Tape Trick" on my ps2. So now i can play Burnt CD's from PSx and Ps2. My next question is; Now that i can play burnt CD's does this mean i can use FreeMcBoot or my cracked Codebreaker ELF to play backup DVD games?

I tried booting the codebreaker ISO from a CD, but it failed.
But for some reason i can launch my backup copy of Sims (its the only cd game i have).

Despite what others may say, I have a hard time believing that there is a free way of doing this, as there isn't. I have been doing this for two years now, and although I have not tried all methods, I have done the swap magic method and the usb boot from hard drive method.
You really need to spend money here to play your backed up games. There is no way around it. Sure, there are memory card exploits, or codebreaker exploits, but I have not done those as swap magic has suited me fine.
To find actual tutorials on how to burn and play games with swap magic, visit my blog in my sig and search for PS2 or watch youtube for some videos.

The only way close to free, but it still costs you postage for the mc to and from the installer is fmcb 1.8

They are reliable.

If your friend has a way of installing it for you, and doing the Multi-Install, then yes it will work on your un-modded PS2.

Once you have fmcb 1.8 installed along with the recommended apps, in order to play backups using the ESR.ELF, you have to patch your ISO files before you burn them.
This is done with the ESR disc patcher GUI v0.24a

Thanks big, but do u think it will work on unmodded ps2 slim. Sorry i havnt copied the files to a memory card yet, im still waiting on my friend to do it on his fat ps2

No problem, of course it works on an unmodded ps2 once the files are installed to the mc.
Just make sure he does the Multi-Install
It says so right at the top of the tutorial. I have installed this to many mc and tried on a few different PS2. It works great.
"Free McBoot is a method of running homebrew applications directly off a Memory Card as a stand alone loader. No boot discs or modchips are required once installed. You will however need to have a method to install FMCB to the MC."

It will work fine as long as your friend has a way to install fmcb to mc and does the Multi-Install
Anyway post back when you have it running on your PS2
