Encoding AVI to DVD software comparisons ?

Hi Everyone,

I have used Nero Vision Express (from Nero 7) , in the past for AVI to DVD conversion.
But lately, I have been looking for freeware alternatives for Nero Programs . Such as IMGBurn for Nero Burning Rom.
Just in case Nero software packages become total bloatware !
So I'm now looking at Avi2Dvd as a alternative to Nero Vision Express . I have Avi2Dvd installed , but I haven't used it yet.
So I would like to ask ,those who are experienced with freeware video encoders , how does Avi2Dvd compare to other freeware video encoders ?
How about DVD Flick ?
