hey i downloaded the new firmware from the eamos library but when i connect my comp to the box using a usb to rs 232 converter and run the program, an error message saying flash update fail ... appears. can anyone pls help its drivin me crazy.

You need a Null modem cable.

so do you connect the usb converter to your pc then connect the null cable to that. then use the null cable to transfer th firmware update?

Yep, its a usb to serial port adaptor, as i said all the info is in the link I gave you :)
