Hi all so sorry if this is the wrong place as i have looked all over the psp section and im a bit worried now.
I have my boys psp its a psp1001 ( a fat one i think...lol )if it helps the serial is FU177726 code 5D
I was silly i think and upgrade the software from 1.5 to 5.01 and realised i may have to downgrade.he has a 1.0gb magicgate pro due stick and i have gone to and download the Guide: Create Pandora Battery http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/708959
Have i done wrong??? really sorry about this im sure you all have had this all the time. I think i need to downgrade the software??? if so can some one point me in the right direction .
Basically i have a few iso games to load for him and as i used to happly do his ps2 ( even moded IT ) this is slightly more complicated.
If it helps all i know is it is about 5 years old and came from USA so i guess its north american 1.5 fw i need which i have from dark alex site....
All im worried about after reading more is can i still " BRICK" it or is it easy for me to just load the 150.pbp file and reboot.??
Just worried i may mash it up for him( LOL)
thanks
Thank you for your help in advice
PS fantastic forum been searching for ages ..lol

Could some one put me out of missery please and tell me how to revert back to the original 1.5 ofw i had before i used " media manager 3.0 psp" to upgrade me to software version 5.01 now as it seems there isnt a downgrade yet ( how ever i did hear that if my Phat psp came with the 1.5 version ( which it did) and i have only updated it 1 month ago ( untill i realised this).
I have loaded pandora battery and some others etc but all of them say
"this game cannont be started the data is corrupt"
i assume its cause im on ofw 5.01?? and need to go back to 1.5 ofw then convert to CFW??
thank you

oH?
so are you saying that as the " pandora battery + mms Software not working" even though i loaded the magic memory stick ok, that i have to just get a pre modded battery?
If so is this beacuse i updated my self ( last month from the OFW 1.5 to OFw 5.01 ( as in current now.)
Do i have to get a datel tool battery or converter?? as even though i could self hard mod the battery but i still need a new normal battery to run psp after??
look forward to your final adice ( eeekkk im guessing im right here...if so dame it all cause i thought my boys OFW needed the latest Fw --...lol u see im always telling my clients to make sure their Pc is scanned/back up and update)...
thank anyway

Probably should have pointed him in the right direction there, anto.
Hi there, 365resell.
Being that there is no direct software that will revert your firmware from version 5 back to 1.5 directly, you'll need to create a pandora battery, which will force the console to wipe it's firmware and load 1.5 back on again.
As far as I know, some people are actually selling pre-modified batterys with the pandora software on site such as Amazon or eBay, however, if you wish to make one yourself.
There are two methods, one being the most complicated, involves getting another PSP battery, purchasin a 3.6v 2200mAh battery and then opening the battery with small flat head screw driver by prying around the battery to snap it open, then using a soldering iron to remote the "pcb" from the top. This sounds a bit more complicated, and I can give you a guide to doing it if you wish.
Your second method, would be using an original fat PSP, with modded firmware and creating a pandora's battery using that method, the only problem here, being accessibility (would you have access to another working PSP with modded firmware?)
Perhaps it may be easier to just buy one of the pandora's batterys from Amazon or eBay and following a guide (I can point you to one of these) in order to restore it.
The decision is entirely upto yourself, and whichever is the easiest for you, I can help you out with. Reply back to the thread when you have decided :)

Thanks for reply Mik3h
Yes i thought so after long reading ..lol I decided to buy a pandora battery ( should be he for weekend ) I could have hard moded no problem but seemed silly as i would have had to buy a second normal battery and for the cost of this pandora battery it was not worth the hassle. Thanks so much for help and i will let you know how i get on as i have all the software downloaded ready for its arrival.
:)

I'm heading off to work, so I can find and suggest a bunch of stuff for you in a few hours, but dont you need to create the memory stick WITH the pandora battery you have? Perhaps you don't, unless the guide says so.
As I said though, I will suggest a few things when I get back and have time. Hopefully by then someone else will have helped you so you don't have to wait.

Thanks Mik3h all i know is im now following the exapmle from where i got the battery from as follows if it helps any others?
:
Downgrading guide
Posted on 25th Jul 2008 @ 12:18 AM
Downgrade/Unbrick any PSP via the PC
Things you'll need:
1. A Pandora battery
2. A genuine pro duo memory stick (between 256mb and 2GB capacity, anything larger or small will not work)
3. A package named 14749_TOTALNewbieasyInstallerPandorasmenu. This is about 135MB in size.
May need:
1. Pandora's GUI 1.5
-This is for the IPL if the previous application doesn't function.
Steps:
1. Boot up your PSP with the memory stick inside.
2. Go to the system settings in the options tab and format the memory stick.
3. Plug in the PSP via USB.
4. Put the device into USB mode.
Note: You may need to remove the memory card from the PSP and put it into a card reader so that your PC can access it. I can't remember if the PSP provides the interface or not as you'll need to specify a drive letter for the memory stick when you reach step 7.
5. Go to your PC and extract the 14749TOTALNewbieasyInstallerPandorasmenu package.
6. Run START.exe. If you're using Vista, you'll have to run it as the root or the Administrator.
7. Follow the instructions given by the application. You may select any option you wish for the firmware or unbricker. If you're using a PSP slim, I'd go with option 3 as it will create the proper PSP slim memory stick.
8. When it's finished, turn the PSP off.
9. Remove the original battery from the PSP.
10. If you've removed the prepared memory stick from the PSP, put it back in.
11. Put the Pandora battery into the PSP.
12. It should boot up automatically and the screen will appear blank.
13. Hit X.
14. Wait until the PSP turns off automatically.
15. Take out the Pandora battery and replace it with your normal battery.
16. Turn the PSP on and enjoy. At this point, you can update the existing custom firmware or do whatever you want.
Alternative:
LinkDead suggested that 3.71 slims can only be downgraded with DA's universal unbricker. This is actually included in the install package I believe which means you can't just flash CFW on to the PSP but that's not a huge deal. He also suggested an alternative instruction set that would replace steps 12-14.
"Pop in the memory stick, then pop in the battery. Your memory stick access light and wifi lights should blink.
Then press SQUARE to backup your NAND. The psp will dump the NAND (takes about 3-5 minutes) and power down.
Pop the battery back out and in. This time press X and it will flash 3.71m33."
Note: If your PSP doesn't do anything after you hit X and walk away, try using Pandora's GUI to just build the IPL on the memory stick. If this doesn't work, start the whole process again. If you still can't get it to function, try a different memory stick. If you still have issues, microwave your PSP.
I will let you know how i get on
PS also found out my battery is "softmodded"?? im guessing it has already have the software on the battery and not been battery clip wire break off?

Hi again 365resell,
Once you get your new memory stick, you should format it within the PSP system. The only files that need to be on the stick are the relevant folders for each particular game/file. The only software you need to put on the stick are the apps and emulators.
I reccomend you copy the contents of your current stick (apart from the actual games themselves, maybe delete them off the new stick once you have transferred them over) or copy the current directory structure of the 1gb memory stick.
ie.
PSP > GAME > (ISO goes here)
PSP > VIDEO > (Videos go here)
PSP > Music > (Music goes here)
etc.
As you can see it's probably easier to copy over the current contents over to the second stick after formatting it.
Good luck, let us know how you get on.
