Well the install went fine last night, poped in a regualr wii disk and all was working good. Left for work for the night. Go to put in the config disk today, and the one in there will not eject. I have tried for the last few hours anything i can think of. I have searched the net and the only thing so far i can see is that it may be a blown fuse, and that you can bridge it to fix this.
Has anyone else had this problem before? is there an easier way around this than tearing it apart again?

Every time I've seen someone with eject issues on a forum it is from one of two problems.
-If you soldered it in, a cold solder joint.
-If you used a clip, a poorly installed/soldered/manufactured wiiclip.

Ok i will retry solder joints, allthough pretty sure all are good. It ejected fine for the first 2 disks. This is really odd.

redid all solder joints, still didnt help, noticed chip was getting really hot. Unsoldered the chip, turned back on hit eject and it started trying to eject. With a little help i managed to get it working again. So im not sure if it could be a faulty chip, or a faulty install. I dont think it was the install, as I did a real good job on it, i tested everything on the chip and all seemed to be getting voltage. I dont get it. but none the less the drive is working back to normal.

Could it be the chip itself?

Well there's alway the possibility of the chip being bad. But since you took it off and the wii works properly now, by deduction it's either a faulty chip or faulty install. Without seeing your install it's difficult to comment on that. As far as the chip is concerned are you positive you have a genuine wiikey? Where did you purchase it from?

pretty dang sure, modchipcentral. yellow sticker on the back.
i got a crappy picture of install, i will see if i can upload it
but problem lies now, the last solder point, for the "g" on the tiny spot i lifted the solder point, so i would have to try to scratch a line in it somewhere to solder to i think.
