Problems flashing benq via iprep, won't become bootable?

I've spent the better part of the evening trying to flash my Benq drive, and after a lot of searching, thought I knew what to do. I have 1 of 2 issues, when I run iprep to set up my usb drive, I get a message telling me that drive A needs to be closed and can't be made bootable, but that isn't even the drive I'm supposed to be formatting. I cancel out, and it goes about finishing the boot. Then when I go into the bios upon restart and set it to boot from usb, the iprep software never boots, and I'm left at a windows 98 dos screen (I believe) with simple the C:/ prompt. Is there something specfic I'm doing wrong, or am I simply too much of a newb to handle this?

well if you never can format the usb drive correctly, it would have nothing to boot from.

Do you see folders or anything inside the usb drive when iprep makes it bootable, or do you not get that far?

make sure you dont have to tell bois to boot from usb.
