What exactly do I need, or have or buy, in order to do this?

Do I have to solder anything at all?

Should i wait for 1.5 FW or do it right now?

If I do wait for 1.5, what materials would i need then to flash my Xbox 360 arcade?

How much will it cost me?

...and can someone give me their experience of how it went when they flashed their lite on Xbox 360?

thanks in advance =)

Google Textbook's Tutorial to 360 Flashing the 2008 Edition. Get a good read through of the basics and materials that you will need.

yeah, you will need to use 1.5 for the liteon.

Look up key reading for the liteon. You either have to buy a modchip with a reader that comes with it, make your own reader, or solder.

Thanks alot everyone...just one last question

Is there any assured information for what you need to for the 1.5 update, or is it still unknown to us what the team is is developing?

Because I have Google Textbook's Tutorial to 360 Flashing the 2008 Edition, and i dont want to but anything until I know I will definitely require it.

no. We can't say 100% for sure what is required because it's not out yet. But look at my above post, and you will need to do/get one of the three options because it is required for drive key reading.

So will I have to but a reader, right?

I have been keeping up with most of the topics and I read guessswho's post about the ixtreme 1.5 updates and i saw that he posted c4eva's conversation and someone said you need a serial adapter and c4eva said extractor works fine....

you need a serial adapter for a key dump, right? I'm not sure

and should i go ahead and but an extractor so should i just wait?

everything i've read so far seems to indicate you will still need to extract the key on your own... they don't seen to be addressing that at all with this upcoming release...

I don't know... After reading the comments that c4eva has left, I would think that it would just be a regular firmware hack like the other drives. I mean he's gotten backups working on it, and it's still being worked on. So I would just wait a little bit longer, before you go buying anything.
