Here's the error... I've watched the first like 10 mins of the movie and it plays fine. Do I HAVE to verify the disc or is that just an addition option?

Verification, especially by the same program that burnt the disk, is hit and miss at best. Ultimately, watching your new backup is the only "verification" method that matters. If it looks good and plays good, then what does anything else matter, However, if you still feel the need to test it somehow, then running a read test or CRC Check with a program like Nero CD Speed or DVD Info Pro, will tell you more than simply verifying.
BTW: I noticed that you had your write speed set to "max" while you never exceeded 8x in your logged burn, it would be better to back that down half the rated speed of the disk or no more than 8x for future reference. IMHO.

I have a similar problem. Neither my DVD Decrypter nor my ImgBurn can verify the discs that they make, and when I try to open the discs on my computer, the drive won't even acknowledge that a disc is present. I can burn dvd and vcd movies, but it's these two programs that don't seem to work for me.

There must be something else going on in the background or in your settings that is giving you fits. Both programs are excellent and are used by the multitudes without issue. Maybe you could post a burnlog or give more detail to your process and perhaps we can help you figure it out.
