Using XP SP1 but i'd like to get SP 2. Can anyone help? Also relates to Windows Live problem.

I've had my PC for about 8 years and have never used Windows update, or even bothered to register my XP through Windows. The thing is since day one, i've always used a copy of my brothers XP, and cause i know that using Windows update or registering it would lead it to being classifed as "fake" then i've never even done it.

Anyway, it's always worked fine, so again i saw no need to do anything. But late last year, or early this year i noticed that my version of Windows Live would no longer work, because it needed me to update to SP2. I found a way around that by using web messenger, but know i really just want the real thing.

As i know it wont install on my SP1, i borrowed my friends version of SP2 (i didn't want to buy one, cause they are hard to find and are apparently no longer sold through large retail chains, and are quite expensive. And i can't get Vista cause my computer doesn't have the specs that are required).

So i've installed XP SP2, but know it's telling me i have 30 days to register. Obviously i can't do that, cause it's already been registered by someone else.

So i need to know if there is anyway around that?

Basicaly this is what i need to know:

Can i run Windows Live on my version of SP1, so that i don't need to use SP2?
If not, then can i install SP2 over my SP1, without registering it or using Windows Update?
If not, then is there any way to install SP2 but bypass the "30 days tio register" updates?

Hope that makes sense :S

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
