alright i lost the video on my old xbox which is modded with ixteme
im gonna get it fixed but i need an xbox to go online so im buying an arcade

now i use a 120 gig hdd to store everything
if i get downloaded stuff from the newest firmware on the arcade xbox im buying and put it on the hdd i used on the modded xbox will it have any effect on putting the hdd back on my old modded elite and playing my copies such as upgrading banning or destroying the elite

Nope you shouldn't have any problems with the HDD at all. I've got a 120GB HDD, and I've used it on my system, and my buddies' systems, with no problems. It won't format your drive, but if you download stuff on one system, you will need those licenses transferred to the new system, if you want to use that content offline.
