XviD to DVD! Two Avi Files into one - I need you technique!!

I have 2 Xvid Files both about 700mb. I need to put them into DVD version and onto a DVD. The technique i have been using seems a little slow and long winded are there any better ways?? My Method - 1. Use virtual Dub to join the two Avi's together 2. Use TMpgenc to encode into DVD mode. Is this rite??

I wish to do the same thing. I haven't yet done this. can someone help me try to figure this out please.
What are the best programs to use to combine the .AVI's?
