I have bought a psp a vew weeks ago and it seems it has a system version: 4.01 .
How can i downgrade this and then update it so i can play backup game on my pro duo memory stick?

I had the same problem as yours.. Read some threads regarding how to downgrade your psp..You'll find sticky on them and just follow the steps on how to make a pandora battery and magic mm..

Sry for not checking.

Is there also a guide for without battery.
I saw on internet i only need a program on my pc and then downgrade the version to 1.05 and then to a custom one and done.
Buth those guides are only for 3.05 and lower =(.

Soft modding a battery doesn't work on slims. You have to hard mod it. No way around it. If you're uncomfortable with doing so you can purchase a pre-modded battery off the internet. Do a google search for it.

Battery and magic memory stick is the only way you can mod a slim.

Please note that if just recently bought your psp then you may want to look up info on TA-088v3 mother boards...cuz if you have one of those you're not going to be able to put CFW on it for a while. The TA-088v3 mobo has yet to be cracked (as of this post).

apparently original firmware above 3.95 is not currently hackable said on the MMS guide on here
