Using a friends slim with CFW to pandora my battery

So I've been reading around here for a couple of days, I have a 2001 with OFW 5.02. I used larry's guide to make an MMS, I think the MMS was successful, installed the files trying both XP and Vista but I'm not quite sure. The only thing that doesn't seem normal is one of the files from the game menu says corrupt so I'm not sure which one it is, I have the OS 0.5 Creator and the 1.50 one on there, plus all the 1.50 kerns, hellcat, el despertar, etc.

Anyways, my friend also has a slim 2001 but with CFW 3.77 m22 or whatever (don't remember the exact #), so I put my MMS and battery in his and was able to get into the OS Pandora program but then got a 0x8025 error when I tried to run it.

I know that it could be my stick, the PC I used, or my battery, but I've seen some guides here that said something along the lines of me having to do this on a fat model w/ 1.50, instead of his slim. So I guess my question is if this is actually possible, or if I'm doing something wrong. (before i go try other sticks, batteries, fat, etc)
Larry's seems to be the latest and I got the impression that it is possible.

Thanks for any help and sorry in advance for having to ask, just ran into a wall with my studying of this stuff. =p

i'm pretty sure it's not, i bought it probably 1.5-2yrs ago, i've updated the OFW a few times
