Hi, I built a new computer with a Phenom 9750 and the stock fan is very noisy. If anyone could recommend a quiet and efficient that would be great. I am using a slim case just slightly short of 120mm, so fans that stick out like the Zalman 9500 won't work. I basically want something flat like the stock fan, only quieter and more efficient.

Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 pro should do the job ok. Not sure if it will fit thought, as the CNPS9500 only uses a 92mm fan, not a 120.

Thanks, but I am thinking it won't fit - the fan is 92mm alright, but the heat sink sticks out 127mm...

There's a low profile version, not sure how good it is

Do you mean this:

Looks like I'll have to remove the motherboard and swap in their bracket. But still, looks good! Thanks

That's the way with a lot of coolers unfortunately, but it should work fine, and certainly better than the stock cooler.

Just wondering, is there other options beside this one? This one is good enough and I'll probably go with it, but I am interested in knowing other available options. Thanks

The only other company I know that makes coolers guaranteed to fit low profile cases is Zalman, and trust me, the Arctic is better.

From reviews I have read, I think the Freezer 64 Pro LP is a better cooler.
