mkv2vob converted file not working

i have a .264 movie and converted it to a m2ts with no results. the 264 is 10gb and so is the converted file, but the m2ts file is only 1 sec long on the ps3.

here are my settings:
audio language: english
video transcoding: automatic
file splitting: none
output file extension: m2ts
transcoding codec: x264 (slow)
boost aac/dts volume boxes are both checked and nothing else

is there something with those settings that aren't right?
