DVD Shrink can not handle new protections, it has not been updated in ages. Your best bet is to go with DVDFab HD Decrypter (FREE.. and it's one of the best ripper now).

DVDFab HD Decrypter 5208 http://www.dvdfab.com/download/DVDFab5208Beta_avangate-689.exe
Or get the latest DVDFab HD Decrypter 5209 http://club.cdfreaks.com/f116/dvdfab-5-2-0-9-beta-out-258752/

<> download DVDFab HD Decrypter (FREE..get the latest possible)
<> install it and start DVDFab HD Decrypter
<> insert DVD
<> rip to your hard drive and wait until it's completed
<> start up DVD Shrink and continue with DVD Shrink as usual

If DVD Shrink still encounter issue, then try to process the already ripped files/VIDEO_TS with FixVTS or VobBlanker.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

Dvd Shrink transcodes.

When's the last time you cleaned the dust out of your pc?

Dvd Shrink will use 95%+ of your processor when it analyzes and encodes. That'll increase the temp in your tower.

Make sure you blow it out.
Add an extra fan/blower or 2
Rid all malware/virus's
Turn all background programs when backing up dvd's/no multitasking. When your cpu is maxxed out, anything kicking on can do some screwy things to the pc.

If still shuts down, leave the case open and point a fan at it. Look at the registry errors/or even a bad windows install-reformat time.

Reducing compression may help, especially if you can untick the AEC enhancements. Those will really bog down the processor.

I'm pretty much familiar with most of those culprits that I listed.I've never had encryption that caused the shutdown.Summertime is when my backup pc shuts off occasionally-heat issue and pointed fan helps. It's also had previous issues with a cheap powersupply. That pc had all kinds of issues from the time I purchased it,but runs very good now.

My main pc has never shut dow due to dvd shrink. Some pc's have difficulty with dvd shrink.
