i have just done the fw mod on my 360, and now i am confused. i have a samsung ms28 drive with via 6421 sata card. i need to know which of these dives is correct for backing up my games: is it gonna be samsung sh-d163b or a (sata), or will it be sh-d162d or c (ide)? help with the answer for this question is greatly appreciated.

where do you plug in sata cable when you put new drive in? does it go back in the same place on motherboard or will it plug into the new sata card i just put in?

KREON drives do not go in the console they go in your computer. So if you only have a laptop then the internal Drives for desktop will not work.

i know that already, im talkin about when i take out my old dvd drive from my computer and put the new samsung dvd rom drive in my computer. does the sata cable on drive that i am pulling out computer , does it stay hooked up on sata port number two on my motherboard or does the cable plug into internal port on via 6421 sata card?

Well that's not even entirely true... he can use an internal desktop drive as an external drive by installing it into an external enclosure that can then connect to your desktop or laptop via USB or Firewire. It's a rather inexpensive portable solution, I have my LG dvd-rom installed into one of these enclosures for when I rip Wii games.

yea of course you can ..

i dont think it matters where u plug in the drive as long as it works. the via sata card is mainly to connect the 360. but if u have onboard sata and the kreon drive works with it should be fine.

some people go as far as looking at the plastic wrap label on the package to see where they were manufactured. They say the ones that read MIS for Made in Sigapore are the best but that is all i have ever found so i cannot give personal experience
