Is Internet-less LAN Party Possible with PS3?

So I've had my PS3 for a while, and I couldn't help but notice that most of the good multiplayer games (GTA IV for instance) all require you to connect to the PSN.

So I was wondering if I moved my PS3 over to a house with another one and no internet (basically set up two TVs next to each other, along with two PS3s and LAN them together on my little WoW Network), is there some sort of PSN Emulator or something that could be used to fake a connection to the PSN.

If there's not such a thing, we should perhaps start rounding up coders and reverse engineering elitests and see what we can come up with as far as a PC app for a local network with multiple PS3s on it. Nothing dangerous now, nothing that will steal real PSN account passwords or something, but perhapes something that validates any name and password combination?

Most ps3 games support lan; but if you mean you want to use it to work on your online account that's not going to work, out of the box anyway.

Perhaps you could tinker with that ps3 proxy tool, it lets you get past updates (for people who want to keep their firmware as low as possible for some insane reason) so there might be a way but I don't see the effort being worth it.

Oh and on a side note why do you want to avoid connecting to the PSN anyway?

Im' pretty sure lan play is only possible on a select amount of game F1 championship edition bieng the only one i know of.

Really, pretty much all the games I own have it; you just gotta dig for it a bit. They usually don't put it right in the main options.
