Video capture using Kworld plus HD pci, Blaze media pro with huffyuv ver 2.1.1 AVI codec and Windows media audioV2 Audio codec (Best combo I have found so far)..AMD 64 X2 5600..2 GB ram..

Had some extra time on my hands so decided to try out some of the different converters etc.
My experience level with video manipulation=Intermediate
Lots of late nite bad coffee and stale donuts..

Captured 5 GB of HD tv show just to experiment with. Yesterday gave DVDFlick a try and got 3 VOB's after convert. 1st VOB was perfect, 2nd VOB audio was out of sync about 2 seconds, 3rd VOB was a mess..Audio ahead of video a good 30 seconds or more!! Used default settings for a DVD5 thread count 2 NTSC output. Program pretty basic and doesn't allow for adjustments in bitrate, fps etc..

Will be running same file thru the other popular converters from this forum and will give further results..

I'm happy to see someone else sweat over this format.

In the past I have used DVD Flick to convert HDTV to DVD format - but unless it was demuxed and an Avisynth script used as the source (for DVD Flick), the audio was out of sync.

To get around that, I demuxed the HD stream with Dgindex to video and wav files then used Fitcd to generate the script.

There were other problems too in feeding the transport stream straight to DVD Flick;if the stream had sub-channels, it always got confused and picked the wrong one or simply choked during conversion.

With Dgindex, you can pick the video and audio channels out of the stream - which is good if there are sub-channels present - or perhaps if it incorporate a second language that you prefer to use.

Dgindex gives the option of saving the audio as ac3 or wav.
The wav file incorporates the delay (if present) - the ac3 file simply lists the delay in the file name.
I could never find a way to make DVD Flick recognize the delay - so the output was always async.

Sounds like way too much work! I hope the developer knows what's going on and comes out with an upgrade..The 1st Vob that was good was of great quality..I might try to split the AVI into smaller sections, convert then re-join them..
