Hi people merry christmas.

Does anyone know if there is a fix for the E73 error and one red light?

I fixed my 3 rrod with the xclamp fix AND the penny fix, but now i get this one.

I have heated it up again to let the solder reflow but unfortunately it rfuses to work!

I have searched and searched for a fix but cant find anything.

Big thankyou in advance for anyone who has some advice for me.

Hi and merry christmas to you to! :)

E73 Error is an ethernet failure. i have had 4 xbox 360's so far and 2 are standing strong :)

from my experiance, i had to remove the faulty ethernet panel and replace it from another faulty one. it could be a poor joint around the ethernet panel or a blown fuse. not easy to find which as i think there are 30 on either side. fuses can be bridged with a piece of wire but not the best thing to do.

Did you desolder the ethernet panel with a soldering iron?

Have you changed the fuses on one before?

what would you reccommend i do first?

Hi again, yes i used a precision 30W variable soldering iron from ebay, was a bargain but gets the job done....

i haven't changed fuses on a 360 but on other consoles.

to begin with i would find some type of guide to all components on each trace from the ethernet port. if the fuses have shorted or blown then very little less than 1v or nothing should be received from the multimeter.

this could potentially stop the ethernet port from functioning.

one thing to check before playing with the internals as tempting as it sounds is plug some kind of USB device into the rear panel such as a USB laptray fan or some USB light. or at least something which doesn't have its own power source and test it. if power is present then it may be a more serious fault or just a blown fuse on the board connecting to the ethernet and not the USB connection. on llama.com there should be a pin out diagram of all connections on the board. ethernet should be present on there. find each connection which the USB port doesnt share and follow it on the board and see if you can see a small rectangle which has both ends soldered to the board. it shouldnt be a huge thing like a resistor but maybe noticable from scorch marks or no power.

if this doesnt work then maybe a more serious fault could be a at hand. does your GPU or CPU get hot on the Red light error?. turn your xbox on and leave it for a couple of mins. it should be warm if not then you may need to focus a hair dryer or heat gun on the heatsink while attached to the GPU CPU. this should force the contacts on the GPU to connect properly. the intense pressure from the xclamp fix should hold the GPU/CPU in place while the solder reforms the connection.

make sure you dont focus the heat at meltable components which should be obvious.

give that ago and report back with any results please. this could be used to help others XD
