I have a Wiikey 2 (Update v1.2) installed on my 3.4E PAL Wii.
I've managed to get four of my backups going so far (PAL only) but am far from successful with the rest. I noticed to get one game going I had to turn the Wiikey 2 update blocker off.

The question I'm really asking is what is the BEST way to set up my Wii so I can play most of my backups with what I have? I'm intending to play the JAP, USA and PAL (native) ones.

Not everyones going to be able to answer all these questions and if you can you earn status Wiigod (as long as you know your s#$t).

1. Should I set the Wiikey 2 Region to all?
2. Should I turn the Wiikey 2 update blocker ON or OFF?
3. Should I use Brickblocker 1.3R2 on all backups (including EURO PAL) or just NTSC or not bother and just leave the Wiikey 2 Update blocker on?
4. Do I need to use region free before I burn the backup to play an NTSC USA or JAP backup properly?
5. If I should revert my firmware to 3.2 what software should I use for this and where is it sourced from.
6. Will I have to run homebrew on my Wii (I want to avoid it if possible)
7. Has anyone reverted from 3.4E (PAL) firmware to 3.2?
8. What is the best software to backwards flash and source for firmware?
9. What are the implications of flashing backwards i.e. does the channels get reversed back in version or are they a separate entity. What issues can arise?
10. Any other advice for me?

Also so far I have burned at 4x speed on verbatims the ones that work seem perfect is there a chance this could cause issues?

I see another problem I have is I can be updated (well according to Nintendo) without me saying yes or no as I'm on 3.4E now. So I want to get off this firmware version as I am not sure if my compatibility is suffering as a result.

I appreciate the time in replying to me.

My situation is different, I'm in the US and I'm pretty sure all the games I've played are NTSC.

I highly recommend Homebrew because of it's functionality being almost limitless. I'm a fan of old-school games so I've got emulators as well as a web server and an ftp server.

I have a WiiKey 2 and use GeckoOS to avoid updates. I downgraded from 3.4u to 2.2u though it wasn't easy. I had to cycle through a few wad's to finally get it right. I installed Opera and a few games before I downgraded and everything is intact after the downgrade.

I use Wiihttpd Dumper for backups. This creates an exact copy of the game which can then be ripped using any burning software. As far as regions goes, you only have to worry about this when you go to play the backup. I've used GeckoOS since my downgrade to avoid upgrades, but it also hacks regions as well.

I'll let other more experienced users answer the remainder of your questions.
