getting Vista to recgonize USB drive ?

hey guys I have flashed ten 360s so far and ran into my first problem. I lost my old USB drive that booted I-prep perfectly when I format the new usb drive its not showing as a boot option. So do I need to format the usb drive in a particular format ? what makes vista recognize it.

did you make it bootable with iprep? did you check bios settings? can you even see it in windows?

ya I formatted the usb drive with I prep following the textbook. I restart my computer and go in to the bios under removable drives and its not showing as a boot option.
