Hi, I was wondering If you can do me a favor. I have a 4 GIG sony memory card, and I followed instructions online and I turned it into a magic memory stick. Is there any way to check if I did it right? I tried hardmodding my battery, but every time i charge it and turn on the PSP, it blinks green and orange. I think I broke my battery, and I have 3.95 OFW. I really need help, I will buy a pandora's battery. Can you please help me. Also, is there ANY way I can downgrade it WITHOUT the pandora's battery, otherwise Ill buy it because I dont want to hardmod it again. One last question, Can I buy the pandora's battery (from like walmart or wherever) and still use it as a regular battery, or do I have to buy 2 seperate batteries. I really need help, and If you can help me Id really appreciate it. My goal is to downgrade from 3.95 OFW, to OFW 1.50, then to the highest CFW (THE BEST ONE) I will except any links to any forums having the same problem, or any guides that will help me at all. THANK YOU AND PLZ HELP ME!!! -pspn00b2

Yeah, sounds like you probably fried your battery...You will have to order a ready-made pandora battery (ie: Datel) online to accomplish your goal of installing custom firmware-And also to make sure that memory stick you made is indeed functional. No battery=no downgrade.
Unfortunately, walmart does not carry pandora batteries-they do however stock normal use batteries which it sounds to me like you will be in the market for now as yours is a goner. Last time I checked there, they only had the slim battery for sale though which will set you back about $40, so if you have an original fat psp, you are SOL and will have to get one from eBay or something.
So basically you will need a replacement battery for your psp, as well as a pandora battery to accompany your memory stick.

There is a guide that can be found HERE -however this is for creating the memory stick. If you have a memory stick already made, you really wont need it-provided you followed the directions when you made your memory stick it should be fine. Only way to be sure is to wait until you get your pandora battery to test it..If for some reason it doesnt work once you get your battery, then follow the guide I linked to above so you can remake your memory stick.
As far as your battery question is concerned: The higher the number, the longer the life of the battery..(supposedly)
The standard fat sony battery is 1800mAh, the extended-life is 2200mAh, as for the slim psp, it has a 1200mAh battery...As far as I know Sony does not carry a 3600mAh battery, nor do they carry an extended-life battery for the slim psp. There are aftermarket type batteries in the 3600mAh range out there-but its better to stay away from those as they have been know to cause problems such as overheating while being charged or exploding from extended use.
Just make sure if you do purchase a battery for your psp online that you spend the extra few bucks on a genuine sony battery.

there IS a extended battery kit for the slim; i have one. it is discontinued though. it's a official sony 2200mAh with a new cover. looks odd, but feels better.
i can pull at least 7 hours if i tone down the speed to 300, but running at 333 is my preference.

Yeah, I remember when the slims first came out and that was the "must have" item because so many people were accustomed to enjoying long battery life on their fat psp, and then they get the new slim psp and the battery life is now cut in half. Sony should have just came out with an extended life battery for the slim to begin with rather than gimmicking it up with a cover to save a few bucks..They were too wrapped up in thinking of ways to thwart people from having the ability to play games from their memory sticks...

i'd still take my slim over my fat. better speaker positioning, and more battery efficient. plus the double ram and irshell 4.8 is a killer combo. almost no more stuttering when using the mp3 player and internet browser.
and battery life is slightly better than the fat, when both are using the original batteries.

if you see a menu appear prompting you to install a firmware after you insert the battery, then you will know it does indeed work.
